New Project - Bikini Birdie

This has been in the works for a while. Vicent and I wanted to team up together to take on weddings and kids. His illustation and design style makes for great invitations and stationary for special events and I am doing portraits and wedding photography. The most exciting part for me is that I feel like we are being really honest to our creative vision in this commercial endevour. It feels right. Bikini Birdie has a blog where I will from now on feature weddings and portraits.. I will continue with "From Somewhere With Love" to publish personal and editorial work.. for now. We have been enjoying some lazy days so far this year. After seeing the US East Coast blizzards on TV and lots of skype calls with freezing Americans back home I did realize how freaking great it is that the sun shines so hard sometimes that you can eat a beautiful meal on the beach with your sleeves rolled up in January here. We are all bundled up now huddling around our space heater in the evening but this sunny beach day makes up for it.

New Editorial Website!

Dear friends,

Since we are about to exit the first decade of the 21st century. I decided it 
would be a shame to not get on this "world wide web" thing everybody keeps 
talking about. 

I did it. Finally. 

There are lots of little tweaks to be made.. and captions to be added. This is 
no template and so everything went a bit slow (Did I mention I live in Spain?) 
However, I am too excited to keep all of this to myself. I invite you to take a

The complete Xivi and Dani shoot. We asked this woman to shoot some pictures in her backyard.. she was cool with it - as long as we feed some cookies to her donkey. Hell yeah we'll feed cookies to your donkey! You can't plan that kind of thing. Looking at these photos reminds me how absolutely stunning my surrounding are. Thanks everybody for getting donkey poop on your nice shoes! Also.. dear friends: consider this an example of my wedding photography AND to see what kind of place you can visit and discover when you visit me -- it's pretty right?

Xivi and Dani are a great couple and we had such a fun time running all over my neighborhood in Els Poblets for this shoot. This area is so beautiful.. Rosaana is an old colleague of Vicent's and somebody we get to see every so often since she works at the great print house in our area. We did a little shoot of her cute little baby Ausiàs.   I love Matt and Joanna! This was a gorgeous wedding with lots of personal touches.

  Matt and Joanna are into cycling, saving the world, and being hilarious. They got

  married in the backyard of Joanna's childhood home in West Michigan. There were

  lots of DIY touches. Friends did the invitations, flowers, hair, and Joanna's sister

  and maid of honor is a chef who did all the food (all Michigan products). A string

  quartet played Led Zeppelin as Joanna walked down the aisle to a good friend Jim who

  got licensed to marry them online. Friends painted the basketball court for a fun

  dance floor complete with silly hats for guests to try on.

August 8th was a fun and emotion day during the end of our Michigan visit. We hung out with best friends Joje, Andrea, and Matt at a great taco stand in Grand Rapids. Turns out it was the night before Andrea pushed out her baby just in time for me to meet before we returned to Spain. Any pregnant women trying to get your baby out? Try pico de gallo! I hiked the Pacaya volcano twice while I was in Guatemala.
Both times there were these dudes selling horse rides to the
out of shape tourists who could not make it up on foot.
The second time I hiked the volcano with my niece I made these
